Disability Awareness
Week
MDA Hop-A-Thon
This year we are participating in the Muscular Dystrophy Association
Hop-A-Thon. March 24th-28th is Disability Awareness Week. The children
will be learning about how people can be different in many ways, and one
of those ways is having a disability. The Hop-A-Thon will take place on
April 9th & 10th. The Toddler class, Preschool class, and Pre-K class
will all be participating. The money that is raised goes to help send
children with Muscular Dystrophy to a special Summer Camp in North
Bend. The cost for one child is $800, and we would like to be able to
send at least 4 children to camp. Our goal for this would be to raise
$3200. Each child will receive a packet of information that will
contain everything needed to inform the parents, and get pledges.
People can donate money based on the amount of hops, or based on a flat
donation. The children will also have the opportunity to receive prizes
for how much money they raise.
This is a great opportunity to give to a great cause, and we feel
privileged to be able to help a child be a child.
School Portraits
We
have an opportunity to have a company come out and professionally
photograph the children, just like in elementary school. We would like
to know how many parents would be interested, and also if you do not
want your child’s photo taken. The company is called Lifetouch, which
is a pretty well known company for these types of photographs.
Their website is
www.preschoolportraits.lifetouch.com, so you can check them out.
Please let us know what you think, and if this is something you would be
interested in.

Illnesses
The
cold and flu season is HERE! If you suspect that your child is not
feeling well or is sick,
PLEASE
leave him/her at home, or make other
child care arrangements. If your child has had a fever or is throwing
up the night before, then he/she cannot come to school the next day. We
have a 24 hour exclusion policy, and your child will be sent
home. We are trying to keep everyone as healthy as can be, and
unfortunately that means that we have to be strict about illnesses. We
understand that it is difficult for the parents and missing work, but
when a child is completely miserable, it is absolutely heartbreaking to
watch.
So please understand that we have the entire well-being of the staff
and the children to look after.
